Where is Brevard, NC? Brevard is a small town located in Transylvania County in beautiful Western North Carolina. Our population of 7,609 as of 2010 Census. Also, Brevard is my home, I was born here in Brevard and raised my children in this wonderful small town. The advantage of this and some may say disadvantage is everyone knows everyone. Visitors from around the world come for our shops, music, festivals, waterfalls, trails, rivers, national forest, and easy-going small town charm.
Brevard is just 27 miles from downtown Asheville and 8 miles from the South Carolina border. Brevard is a great year round living or vacation/summer town as well. We have a lot of high-end communities that are summer residents only. If you love hiking trails, biking, and national forest you will love our small town of Brevard and all it has to offer.
Transylvania county has roughly 250 waterfalls spread throughout our county. These waterfalls are beautiful but visitors must be careful and realize the rocks are very slick. Unfortunately we have had several people die just this past year 2016 from falling on the waterfalls. Remember when you visit our great waterfalls to stay your distance, take your pictures but please don’t climb on them.
